Psychosis is a mental health condition that affects a person’s ability to know what is real and what is not real. Hearing voices, believing in what voices tell someone; having unusual thoughts and believing in these thoughts are common features of psychosis. A decline in various levels of functioning (occupational, academic, social, and cognitive) may occur. Early diagnosis and interventions including psychological therapies can facilitate recovery and prevent further relapse.
